THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME

John 15:4-5

“Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

John 15 has been a foundational scripture in my work as a therapist. Every bit of fruitfulness that God has blessed me with in my life has come from my connection to His vine. I am the branch. I can do nothing apart from Him and His goodness. This is a scripture I come back to often in my work; I must continually be reminded of my reliance on Him.

I chose True Vine as a metaphor for healing. The word “therapy” comes from the Greek word therapeia, which means healing. I believe that God is the ultimate healer, and I am blessed with the opportunity to partner with Him in that process—to help offer healing to my clients on their journey.

But True Vine is also a reminder that I could not do what I am doing without Him and my utter reliance and dependence on Him. All the glory goes back to Him for the work He has empowered and equipped me to do.

Hi, I’m Rachel!

I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker based in Worthington, Ohio. I specialize in working with teens, young adults, and women who are walking through anxiety, depression, stress, ADHD, relationship challenges, life transitions, and more. In our sessions, I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and help you make sense of how your thoughts, emotions, and experiences connect.

My style is warm, collaborative, and honest. I believe meaningful change happens when we can look at our lives with both compassion and truth. In our work together, I will support you while also gently challenging the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, always with care, respect, and the goal of helping you grow.

Life Outside the Office

My Approach in the Therapy Room

In our work together, we will:

  • Explore what you are experiencing without shame or judgment

  • Identify patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behavior

  • Learn practical tools you can practice between sessions

  • Connect your faith and values to the choices you are making

  • Move at a pace that feels safe for your nervous system

I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness strategies, strength-based perspectives, and solution-focused techniques, as well as Christian counseling for clients who desire faith to be part of the process.

Outside of sessions, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband, staying active, and appreciating the beauty of God’s creation. I love good food, whether that is cooking healthy meals at home or trying new restaurants with friends and family. Evenings with my two cats and meaningful conversations with loved ones are some of my favorite moments. My relationship with God is central to my life, and staying connected with my church community and personal spiritual growth is very important to me.
